Back to the basics. Back to the good old 80’s we go. I tried to pick some stuff that I really enjoyed then, and still enjoy. Some stuff that isn’t played to death on every retro radio station in world. I think I got a nice little selection. Not too obscure, not to mainstream. Just right, I think. Perhaps I went a little mainstream with the U2 tune, but it was so early in their career, I think I can safely get away with it.
Oh, and just because I love bands that were years ahead of their time, I threw in a couple of special songs. Neil Young is the man…I’ve seen him a couple times, and every time was epic. Rockin’ In The Free World is such a scorching tune, and the lyrics are filled with that great angst that everyone grew to love in the 90’s. Then there’s the Butthole Surfers’ Pittsburgh to Lebanon. I think it came out about 1987 or so. But as I listen to it, I can imagine a younger Kurt Cobain sitting around with the Melvins, and being blown away by it. It’s easily 3 or 4 years ahead of it’s time, and holds up really well. enjoy!

@Robert Lindsey:
Sorry, I had a brutally bad week at work, and have been decompressing the past view days. Unfortunately, that included ignoring my blog for the past few day. I hold comments in moderation because of all the spam I get. Thanks for stopping by, and I’m going to jump over and check out your blog right now!
