The Music Blog of the Infonistacrat!

AN REM HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

Posted by Infonistacrat on Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I’m sitting here in the Detroit airport, waiting on my wifes plane to get in from Cali, and decided that instead of working, it would be better to listen to some music, write up a post, and have a little fun. I can only take work so long, and besides, everyone else in my [...]

SHUFFLING THE iPOD, DAY 3

Posted by Infonistacrat on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Last day in a hotel room for a few days…tomorrow, I am heading home. Sometimes, even with the roughest of jobs, you get a week where the stars align, the universe opens up, and everything goes well. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a beautiful thing. And make no [...]

BACK TO THE FUTURE, I GUESS

Posted by Infonistacrat on Monday, June 29th, 2009

Well, I had the new theme up for a bit, but there were a few tweaks I just could not get worked out. Mainly, I simply could not get it to work with Wordpress Stats. There were a few other things that kind of bugged the hell out of me, that I could [...]

I’M HAVING AN XTC SATURDAY!

Posted by Infonistacrat on Saturday, June 7th, 2008

I don’t usually do posts that are dedicated solely to one artist…in fact, I think this is only the third time in just under a year. The first two were Depeche Mode and the Pixies. Not sure why I don’t, maybe because I myself have very few artists I can sit and listen to for more than a few songs. So in that sense, this blog kind of reflects my listening habits…utter rubbish, and totally chaotic. :-)

If the list of bands I can sit and listen to 10 songs in a row is a short list, then XTC is certainly on that list. It’s a band that most “casual” fans of 80’s music tend to overlook, but certainly one that I, at least, feel should be among the top of the list. Listening to them is always a fun and fresh experience, and after a brutal and exhausting week of travel and meetings, I need something fun and fresh. Enjoy!

  1. XTC – Are You Receiving Me
  2. XTC – Generals And Majors
  3. XTC – Life Begins At The Hop
  4. XTC – Making Plans For Nigel
  5. XTC – Science Friction
  6. XTC – Statue Of Liberty
  7. XTC – Ten Feet Tall
  8. XTC – This Is Pop
  9. XTC – Towers Of London
  10. XTC – Wait Till Your Boat Goes Down

    Whoo-Hoo! XTC singles!

I remember buying these; the picture sleeve of “This is Pop” was those words spelled out in lollypops! And my version of Life Begins at the Hop is on clear vinyl. Ah, that brings back memories.

Thanks for posting these. I loved them then, and I love ‘em now.

Silent 3’s last blog post..Are you qualified for this job?
