I don’t usually do posts that are dedicated solely to one artist…in fact, I think this is only the third time in just under a year. The first two were Depeche Mode and the Pixies. Not sure why I don’t, maybe because I myself have very few artists I can sit and listen to for more than a few songs. So in that sense, this blog kind of reflects my listening habits…utter rubbish, and totally chaotic.
If the list of bands I can sit and listen to 10 songs in a row is a short list, then XTC is certainly on that list. It’s a band that most “casual” fans of 80’s music tend to overlook, but certainly one that I, at least, feel should be among the top of the list. Listening to them is always a fun and fresh experience, and after a brutal and exhausting week of travel and meetings, I need something fun and fresh. Enjoy!

Whoo-Hoo! XTC singles!
I remember buying these; the picture sleeve of “This is Pop” was those words spelled out in lollypops! And my version of Life Begins at the Hop is on clear vinyl. Ah, that brings back memories.
Thanks for posting these. I loved them then, and I love ‘em now.
Silent 3’s last blog post..Are you qualified for this job?
