So, this week has been one of looking back over my life a little bit. I guess thats normal, given that this week is one of those magical, once in a lifetime events. Anyway, somehow, I got to thinking about some of the people I have known in my life, and I realized that in my mind, they are always the same as they were then. I don’t know if anyone else does this, but here’s an example. In 1975, I was in the 6th grade. Now, there are two things about the sixth grade that makes it standout. First is that one of my best friends then was named John Oswald. You all might know him better by the name Jani Lane form the hair band Warrant. No, I don’t like Warrant. They suck. But John was a great guy back then, and one hell of an athlete. I moved away a couple years later, and I never spoke to him after that. By the way, I also went to junior high and high school with this guy, (I really didn’t know him though, we just went to the same school) until he moved away and became pretty famous for being in a whole lot better band. But I digress.
My teacher that year was Mrs. Breckenridge. Memorable because her husband was related to the Civil War general (She told us that story on day one), and because she was probably the first teacher I had a crush on. She was stunningly cute. But when I think about her, she’s in her late 20’s. Except that was 33 years ago, so she is now in her late 50’s, maybe early 60’s. But in my mind, she’s always 20 something. odd how the mind works like that.
Any way, more great post punk tracks for you to feast on. I really enjoyed putting this one together. While I was picking the songs, listening to them on my headphones, I had the movie Singles playing on my other computer. I’ve seen the movie so many times, I know when the great music comes on. So I switched back and forth between post punk and grunge for a couple hours. Thats what I call musical heaven! Enjoy!

more fine choices; thanks. And good memories from grade school, too.

@bill p:
I’m actually surprised the memories from grade school survived the 80’s. Lets just say I tried my hardest to kill a lot of brain cells via copious amounts of various substances, both inhaled and drunk, if you get my drift.
Not that I recommend that of course, but the 80’s were a great time!
