For some reason, I’m bent out of shape, and it’s kind of pissing me off. I’m not trying to inject politics into this blog…what I’m about to rant on is more an example of a larger issue that pisses me off a bit. I was sitting watching the news last night and of course, the topic of the day is politics, and the presidential race. Here is where it gets stupid. There are so many issues in this world that should matter, like people having to eat mud pies to survive, or China cracking down on Tibetans and suppressing the rights of that entire nation. We have gas at 4 bucks a gallon (My apologies to my European friends who pay a hell of a LOT more than we do), melting polar caps and food that is quickly becoming too expensive for a vast majority of the people in the world. We have homeless veterans, and people in uniform living in slums here in the states. There’s genocide in Darfur the the governments of the world don’t seem to give a shit about. The list goes on and on.

Yet, with all that, what do you think the major topic of the day is? Thats right. Jerimiah Wright. Suspending the gas taxes that will save people 14 pennies a gallon, and the he said she said bullshit that goes along with it. We got outrage over pictures of Miley Cyrus. Brittney Spears all the time. It’s all stupid silly shit, and it pretty much pisses me off at how stupid it all becomes. There are real problems, and our political process produces leaders who say nothing and do even less. So I’m in a bit of a foul mood. My apologies. Sometimes anarchy really does look good.

Anyway, back to the music. I know post grunge gets panned a lot. But I actually like it from time to time. Yes, it’s overly commercial, but it’s a lot of fun to listen to. If I wasn’t so pissed off, I would probably go on more about it.

So the video is a decent song. But I threw up one of my favorite videos from the late 90’s, Harvey Danger’s Flafpole Sitta. Just listen to the lyrics, and you’ll see why it’s the perfect song for the way I feel. Enjoy!
