To start the week off right, I thought I would give you all some lo-fi goodness to kick start the week. There’s something about a good lo-fi recording that really makes me feel good inside. I think more than any other music in the past 10 years, lo-fi has kept the spirit of the 80’s underground/college rock scene alive and well. The lyrics are better, the fuzzy guitars (and I do love them fuzzy guitars!), and the absence of all that studio trickery make for a great rock record. Although I have a feeling that getting that sound now days involves plenty of studio trickery. Gone are the days of 4 track tape recordings, I guess. The only thing that would make some of these songs better is if I had em on vinyl. I keep saying that one of these days, I was going to get me an old turntable, and start collecting old vinyl stuff from the 80’s. Albums and 45’s. Oh, to have a fat stack of records, and listen to all that great music with the hiss and pops. Enjoy!
