POST-GRUNGE HITS FROM THE 90′S AND 00′S, DAY 2
Day two of the collection of post punk hits from the late 90’s/early 00’s. This may be a little better than yesterdays list, but then again, it does contain a little more of what I might call cheesy alternative. After the first wave of grunge broke in the early 90’s, the labels all went out and found a bunch of alternative acts like Live and Bush to make up the first wave of post-grunge. Todays list kind of details some of what I like to call the second wave of post-grunge. By the time a lot of these bands came out, they bore little resemblance to the music put out by Pearl jam, Nirvana, Alive in Chains, Soundgarden, etc. It was basically pop warpped in grungey guitars. The bands sounded the same to me. The songs were not bad. Just in comparison to what had come out a mere 8 years or so earlier, it wasn’t good.
The one exception is Everclear, who really is more of a first wave post-grunge band, having hit more towards to middle of the 90’s. The last few years of the 90’s, I really loved Everclear…a lot of the stuff they sand about could have come directly out of my life. Anyway, enjoy!

I lived in extreme turmoil during this era and it’s amazing the imagery these songs dredge up. And I agree that a lot of it, with a few exceptions, ended up sounding the same.
But it’s interesting to now see the evolvement from grunge to post-grunge since I wasn’t able to enjoy it back then. So, I’m here to soak it all up and I appreciate the insight that you provide.

Miss Parker, are you sure your not my twin? The period from 96-99 were probably 3 or four most painful years of my life, and I’ve had some gut wrenching times as I look back on it all. However, music always seemed to give me an escape from personal torment, even if it was for only 3 or 4 minutes at a time.
I’m glad were both all better now, and able to look back at the music and enjoy it.
As always, thanks for stopping by…it’s always a pleasure!

Doppelganger, maybe…lol. I have found so many others in the music community whose sanity was saved because of music. We are the lucky ones. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
