The Music Blog of the Infonistacrat!

AN REM HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

Posted by Infonistacrat on Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I’m sitting here in the Detroit airport, waiting on my wifes plane to get in from Cali, and decided that instead of working, it would be better to listen to some music, write up a post, and have a little fun. I can only take work so long, and besides, everyone else in my [...]

SHUFFLING THE iPOD, DAY 3

Posted by Infonistacrat on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Last day in a hotel room for a few days…tomorrow, I am heading home. Sometimes, even with the roughest of jobs, you get a week where the stars align, the universe opens up, and everything goes well. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a beautiful thing. And make no [...]

BACK TO THE FUTURE, I GUESS

Posted by Infonistacrat on Monday, June 29th, 2009

Well, I had the new theme up for a bit, but there were a few tweaks I just could not get worked out. Mainly, I simply could not get it to work with Wordpress Stats. There were a few other things that kind of bugged the hell out of me, that I could [...]

POST-PUNK HITS FOR YOUR PLEASURE

Posted by Infonistacrat on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

As I wrote the other day in my C86 post, there was a previous cassette released called C81, that was made up of a post-punk bands as well as some of the early new wave acts. So today, I wanted to do a little post on the some of the bands that played on the release. Some of the songs here may be considered more punk than post-punk (The Buzzcocks Boredom is one the immediatly comes to mind), but for the most part, all these bands played some role in the post-punk movement.

Hopefully, you all enjoy…I tried to pick some great tunes for you all today. I know I had a lot of fun putting this list together, so much so, it may just end up on my iPod. Enjoy, I have to go get ready to travel.

  1. Aztec Camera – Get Outta London
  2. Buzzcocks – Boredom
  3. Essential Logic – Aerosol Burns
  4. Ian Drury and the Blockheads – Razzle In My Pocket
  5. Josef K – Sorry For Laughing
  6. Orange Juice – Blue Boy
  7. Pere Ubu – Street Waves

Just wanted you to know how spectacular your blog is. Between evoking memories and giving me new music to make new memories to, this is a daily stop for me. Best always.

I just started to post a series of compilations called “Yerblues Nuggets” (oh my…) focusing the music from the 1975-1990 years at the seres-da-noite-blogspot.com, as a way to celebrate my 40th birthday. Some of the tunes were taken from here, of course, and for that I thank you kindly. But there’s much more on it, and I just want to invite you to enjoy my work as much as I enjoy yours. Peace& respect, from Brasil.
