Yesterday was a truly great day, a day the like I’ve not seen in years! What, you might ask, was so great? Easter dinner? Nope. A basket full of candy? Nope. The return to television of Futurama? YES!!! After too many long years of watching reruns, Comedy Central FINALLY debuted the new Futurama. Yeah, aside from loving music, I’m also a huge dork. But a huge dork who enjoys the subtle humor of the Futurama gang.
So, continuing on my look at the great record labels of the underground, today I take a peek at some of the greats on 4AD. 4AD is/was the home of some of the heavyweights of the 1980’s underground/college radio scene: Bauhaus, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Modern English and Cocteau Twins. It is also the home of a pretty fine indie rock band from Ann Arbor, right down the road from me, His Name Is Alive. Also on 4AD of note is Lush and Ultra Vivid Scene, two bands I personally love.
This week is a busy one for me…I get to go to one of my favorite cities, Toronto. Unfortunately, it’s just for a day, and I won’t have time to check it out. But you can bet I’m going to bring me home some cigars, of the Cuban variety! Enjoy!

I don’t know you but I stumbled across your blog the other day and have gone through all of your posts already. I absolutely love your taste in music and you’ve opened me up to a lot of new artists so thank you!
