THE GREAT 80′S CONTINUE!

January 15th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Well, ok…they continue until this post. Then I’m moving on for awhile. Who knows what decade I decide to land in tomorrow. Physically, I know I’ll be in Pittsburgh today and tomorrow. Hooray for that. If you have preferences or suggestions, let me know. If not, I suppose I may do some newer stuff.

Todays post is good, though it’s definitely NOT as good as yesterdays post. But you know, it’ll do. Enjoy!

  1. Billy Idol - White Wedding

  3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fight Like A Brave
  4. Echo and the Bunnymen - Lips Like Sugar
  5. Psychedelic Furs - Pretty In Pink

  7. David Bowie - Ashes To Ashes

Echo and the Bunnymen is definitely one of the most underrated bands of the 80’s…right up there with Chameleons, Abecedarians, Comsat Angels, Eight Seconds and others.

Let me share another great Bunnymen song:

Cheers - enjoy your visit to Pittsburgh. Brrrrrrrrrr!

Great selection, as always. I really enjoy your blog, and have linked to you.

On a pedantic note, “Because The Night” belongs in the ’70s (1977/78 I think).

Yep, your right, Because the Night does belong in the 70’s. I generally don’t do a lot of stuff from the 70’s, except my punk posts, but I thought it kind of belonged on the list, if for no other reason than it’s a great song, considering that Springsteen wrote it. :-) But you’re right, it was 1978. Good god, I still remember listening to it on the radio, like it was yesterday. Now that REALLY makes me feel old!

Miss Parker, great taste in tunes, as always. Sorry for the long delay in replying to comments. It’s been…an interesting…couple of days.

Echo and the Bunnymen are amazing, and the Chameleons, Abecedarians, Comsat Angels, Eight Seconds…you totally just blew me away. I swear, it’s been years since I heard some one mention Comsat Angels. I’ve even forgotten about most of those bands! Thanks for the reminder…I smell the start of a really great post!
