If yesterday post was a pain in my ass to get together, today’s was a pure joy. Like I said in yesterdays post, 99% of the time it just clicks, and the list almost writes itself. All told, I’ve written something like 130 posts. I think todays is by far my favorite. Hopefully, you’ll agree.

The artists are among my favs…Devo, Talking Heads, Gang of Four, The Cramps, etc. The songs, even better. Alternative Ulster is maybe my favorite Stiff Little Fingers song. This Is Not A Love Song, great. Pulled Up, maybe the best Talking Heads song ever. Devo’s cover of Secret Agent man…pure magic, if not a little off beat. That Petrol Emotion? Yep, lovin’ it! Then top it all off with a great Frank Black remake os the Beach Boys Hang On To Your Ego, and you have a pretty damn fine list.

Oh, and for the uninitiated, Frank Black is Charles Thompson, a.k.a. Black Francis, who, with the Pixies wrote some of the best music of the 80’s. His solo stuff is just as great as the stuff he wrote with the Pixies. Frank Black’s solo stuff is absolutely worth getting and listening to. Enjoy!

    Ronald, it’s always great to hear from a fellow Frank Black fan. The guy has to be one of the most under rated song writers of the last 50 years, at least by the general public. It’s a shame he wasn’t bigger. No pun intended. :-)
