EVEN MORE ALTERNATIVE DEEPCUTS

January 4th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Even more deep cuts today. Except maybe not all of em are deep cuts. Certainly not Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris. I know it got a lot of air play…I think it was from that movie sound track for City of Angels. My wife has the CD, and about the only songs I really care to hear are Iris and a song called I Grieve by Peter Gabriel. And speaking of soundtracks, check out Chris Cornell’s Seasons from the Singles Soundtrack. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I love the movie, and I love the soundtrack. The movie I watch a couple times a year…the soundtrack still gets huge play on the iPod.

While your here, show some love for the Galaxie 500 cut. If your not familiar with Galaxie 500, they may be one of the best bands of the past 30 years or so. It’s a shame they weren’t more popular. But hey, its never to late to start listening to them.

I’m closing out with Garbage. I just love Shirley Manson…to me, she’s the definition of an alternative chick. Just check out their videos on YouTube, and you’ll see what I mean. And the music…I think I wore out my fist copy of their first album. Thats how great it is. Enjoy this trip down memory lane!

Wonderful, wonderful list, yet again. I love Bob Mould - thanks for including this song. Let me give one back in return:

Miss Parker, thanks for the song! It’s pretty amazing, and has a VERY early REM feel to it. Thanks for visiting, as always, and thanks for sharing your obvious great taste!
