ONLY THE CHEESIEST OF CHEESY 80′S HITS

December 14th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Hold your noses boys and girls, cause I got the cheesiest of the cheesy 80’s hits! Don’t worry, I’ve cleared them all for bad taste, and I can promise you that these are some of the greatest bad songs you will ever hear. Ok, so they’re not really bad. actually, I like all of em, but they are cheesy.

So, of course, I have a couple stories to tell here, since the 80’s were the days of my wild youth. I remember some sailor bar in Norfolk, Virgina one night. Somehow, I got hooked up with this girl who also happened to be in the Navy. Any way, I just remember drinking too much, and dancing like an idiot to Pour Some Sugar On Me with this girl, who apparently thought I had some good moves, because she actually agreed to go out again. Trust me, it was not a pretty sight, and my buddies never let me forget it!

The last song on the list, I just had to include. As bad as Cherry Pie is (and it is a TERRIBLE song!), I actually went to middle school with the lead singer of Warrant, John Oswald (or at least, thats his real name), at Field Middle School in Brimfield, OH. Not only that, but he was actually a pretty good friend of mine. And, I might add, a damn fine athlete. We had these things called Field Days, which was a day when classes competed against each other in all kinds of events like 50 meter dash, standing broad jump, tug-a-war, etc. So, he and I had this jump off to see who would do the standing broad jump, and I beat him by a couple inches, and won the gold ribbon two years in a row. I know, that a pretty lame story, but you know, it’s about the best I can come up with. Enjoy!

I think “Next Time I Fall in Love” is Peter Cetera and Amy Grant, not Rick Astley. Thanks for the cheese. :-)

Oh jeez. Yes, it is. I miss labeled it, and then completely left Rick Astley off of Never Gonna Give You Up. Great catch, and thanks for the correction!

No problem. Like, I’ve *never* made a mistake before. LOL. Thanks so much for the great music.
