Over this past weekend, I was watching a special on Freddie Mecury, and immediately knew this was a list that had to be done! I’ve been looking for a way to put some Queen in here, and this is the perfect way.
If your not familiar with glam rock directly, I’m sure you are indirectly. In fact, a lot of the songs here were pretty major hits in the 70’s, though glam rock never really took off here in the States. Our loss.
I actually remember hearing a lot of these songs on the radio in the 70’s. In fact, I remember singing Sweet’s Little Willy with my sister when I was like 10 years old. Listening to it now, it not the silly song I once thought it was! But it’s still classic. And before there was Quiet Riot, there was Slade, with Cum On Feel The Noize. I’m ending the list today with Freddie’s masterful opus, Bohemian Rhapsody. On of the best songs of all time, made all the better by inclusion in Wayne’s World in the 90’s. So happy Tuesday, and enjoy the gorgeous glam!

I dont’ think that this version of Little Willy is by The Sweet. I suspect it is the demo recorded by the songwriters Chinn/Chapman.
