THE GREATEST HITS OF 2003, VOL. 1

November 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Today’s day three of my look at the greatest hits from 2000 - 2005. If you missed 2004 and 2005, no worries, just head head over here to see 2005 and here to see the best of 2004. Though todays list has some pretty decent tunes on it, honestly, I don’t think 2003 was that good of a year, at least as compared to 2004 and 2005. I mean, when the number 5 song on the list is Outkast’s Heya, well, I think you can see where I’m going with this one.

However, there are some really great songs from 2003 that are even worthy of putting on my iPod. Seven Nation Army definitely deserves the top spot. I just find it hard to believe that it’s already been 4 years since it came out. Same with the other songs. It’s scary how fast time flies. In 2003, I still lived in Florida, and moving was the last thing from my mind. Trust me, living 5 minutes from the beach wasn’t all that bad.

Like I said, the list as a whole isn’t as strong, it’s still damn fine. The Strokes pop up here, and Evanesence is represented. AFI checks in, as does a song that I’m more used to hearing on an EASports Hockey game, Queens of the Stone Age’s No One Knows. And the Foo Fighters turned in a solid effort, as they always seem to. And speaking of grunge veterans, Chris Cornell with Audioslave doing Like A Stone is pretty damn solid. So check em out, and come on back tomorrow for 2002!
