80′S MUSIC FRIDAY IS BACK!

October 5th, 2007 · 9 Comments

First, I want to point out a new blog on my blog roll. The blog is exQUIZZme!, and it is one of the most innovative blogs I have seen in a long time. You can answer some pretty tough trivia questions for points, as well as submit your own. The interactive nature of the blog is magnificent. You really should check it out!

Yeah baby! It’s Friday, and that means you need to start looking forward to the weekend. And what better way to kick off the weekends than with 80’s music Friday? I know it has been a while since I did something like this, but I’m back.

Today, I thought I would dip into some of the stuff that I probably let myself over look in the past, like Boy George. I won’t kid you…I was not a Boy George Fan in the 80’s, but I know a lot of people were. So I need to get out of the way, and bring you want you want! I was going to include Debbie Gibson, but unless it is pictures, I’m not sure that I want to do that to you!

Also, I am throwing up some Pink Floyd for the first time. Lets see how it goes…if you like it, I will certainly post more. Also John Mellencamp, BEFORE he dropped the Cougar part of his name. Jack and Diane was a song I really loved. He had a lot of great hits in the 80’s, but besides Pink House, I think this was his best.

I also threw in some Men At Work. I actually saw them in concert back in 1993. INXS opened for then, and honestly, was much better in concert than Men At Work. Just a little something for you from my life in the 80’s!

  1. REO Speedwagon - Keep On Loving You
  2. Pink Floyd - Mother
  3. Rich Springfield - Jessies Girl
  4. J Geils Band - Centerfold
  5. John Cougar Mellencamp - Jack and Diane
  6. Men At Work - Who Can It Be Now
  7. Toni Basil - Mickey
  8. Boy George & the Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
  9. Cyndie Lauper - Time After Time
  10. Simple Minds - Don’t You (Forget About Me)
  11. Tears For Fears - Shout
  12. Mr. Mister - Broken Wings
  13. Bananarama - Venus
  14. The Human League - Human
  15. Blondie - Call Me

Hello from New York! I like music blogs. I have a top 80’s songs list I made on my blog. Some of these songs are on it.

Dennis, you would be correct…I doubt he would ever want to go by Rich. :-) Yet another typo on my part. I’ll chalk this typo up to the pain meds I was on for the root canal I had about the time I posted this. lol
