AN REM HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

Posted by Infonistacrat on Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I’m sitting here in the Detroit airport, waiting on my wifes plane to get in from Cali, and decided that instead of working, it would be better to listen to some music, write up a post, and have a little fun. I can only take work so long, and besides, everyone else in my [...]

SHUFFLING THE iPOD, DAY 3

Posted by Infonistacrat on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Last day in a hotel room for a few days…tomorrow, I am heading home. Sometimes, even with the roughest of jobs, you get a week where the stars align, the universe opens up, and everything goes well. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a beautiful thing. And make no [...]

BACK TO THE FUTURE, I GUESS

Well, I had the new theme up for a bit, but there were a few tweaks I just could not get worked out. Mainly, I simply could not get it to work with Wordpress Stats. There were a few other things that kind of bugged the hell out of me, that I could [...]

The Replacements – It Ain’t Over ‘Til the Fat Roadie Plays!

Posted by Infonistacrat on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

The Replacements
On July 4th, 1991, The Replacements took the stage at the Taste of Chicago, and jammed out 19 songs to an enthusiastic crowd. By the time that 19th song was finished, history had been made. And not in a good way. In what has since been labeled the “It Ain’t Over ‘Til the Fat Roadie Plays” concert, each member of The Replacements walked off stage and was replaced by their roadie. When Paul Westerberg walked off after that 19th song, The Replacements were no more. A great chapter in American the punk/indie scene was finished.

Here is that amazing concert in all it’s glory. If your a Replacements fan, I’m sure it’s a bittersweet thing to actually hear the breakup of the band. But it is one hell of a recording, and shouldn’t be missed for anything.

Oh, and if you look hard enough, you might find the booze soaked performance by The Replacements on Saturday Night Live. The guys decided to get drunk, rip the green room to shreds, switch clothes in between songs, and get impermanently banned from NBC. Not a bad nights work. Too bad it over shadowed great performances of Bastards of Young and Kiss Me On The Bus.

The only one I can find out there. SNL must have been forcing their removal lately.

Not a bad performance of Bastards of Young, considering how drunk they were!
